Is there anything on planet earth that US politicians deem none of their business? It must indeed be the policy of our military to be the police force of the world.
As Libya protests continue, US military forces are readying for action.
Here is the question. Why?
Better yet. Why aren’t more people asking why?
It seems most Americans are perfectly fine with our military using force in any situation that we deem in our interest. We have bases in foreign countries all over the globe. Some estimates are around 1,000 bases in well over 100 countries around the world.
Are we okay spending more money we don’t have to sacrifice American men and women in order to take a police role in another country’s affairs? When will people realize that America is broke and that we can’t afford all the meddling and bomb dropping?
When will we finally see things from the perspective of another country? Would we tolerate another country building a military base in the middle of America? Would we tolerate their military planes flying in our air space? Would we tolerate their drones firing missiles on our soil, even killing our people while seeking out bad guys? Would we thank them for looking out for us? Or would we be fiercely angry? It’s just something to think about.
Maybe it is time for the US to stop spending money on war and empire building. Maybe it’s time for the US military to sit one out for a changed. But don’t hold your breath.
It seems the official policy of both the Republican and Democrat parties to show the world the beauty of the American way across the globe by dropping bombs and firing missiles on their sovereign nations.
